Job Description :

As the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Lead Advisor (DEI), you will contribute to the development and execution of the enterprise DEI strategy and programs that elevate the employee experience, promote diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging within the organization and help builds a diverse leadership pipeline to drive growth and profitability at Cogeco.

In this role, you will partner with Leaders, Employee Resource Groups, HR, Communications and other key stakeholders at all levels of the organization, to define, prioritize and embed purposeful DEI practices to foster an environment where employees feel valued and considered, regardless of their race, gender, ethnicity, age, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, disability, economic status and other diverse backgrounds.The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of advanced practices in DEI and demonstrated experience designing, integrating, and executing a multi-year DEI roadmap, while ensuring we meet DEI duties, aims, and objectives.

**PRIMARY RESPONSABILITIES

  • Evolve and implement our DEI strategy and roadmap, to ensure it aligns with the company's values, mission, and long-term business goals.

  • Help define and drive the strategic execution of best in class DEI initiatives, establishing short and long-term goals aligned and integrated with the broader business strategy and our Employee Value Proposition.

  • Partner with HR, leadership, and teams across the company to integrate DEI principles into all phases of the employee experience: Recruitment, hiring, onboarding, training, and career development processes.

  • Help build the DEI narrative and partner with the Internal and External Communication Managers to increase employee engagement, increase employer brand/voice, build trust and transparency, and to raise awareness of DEI efforts. Celebrate diversity achievements in an integrated, coherent, and authentic way (sustainability reports, award nominations, benchmarks, etc.)

  • Support & guide Cogeco’s DEI Council by shaping the agenda, creating dialogue between the Council and key parts of the organization and coaching presenters and participants.

  • Partner with internal stakeholders to support external sponsorships and partnerships.

  • Engage, equip, and empower the company's Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) to foster a culture of belonging.

  • Work closely with HR Information Systems partners to monitor, measure, and report on key metrics related to the equity, diversity, and inclusion strategy including annual Accessibility and Employment Equity reporting.

  • Build a strong expertise in diversity and inclusion, supporting the Communications and DEI Director in providing guidance and consultation to senior leadership, management, and employees, as needed.

  • Stay abreast of legislation, regulations, reporting, and review company policies to ensure compliance and promote best practices.

  • Participate in the three year accessibility plan and in the development of tactics including staying abreast of emerging industry input and requirements.

REQUIREMENTS

ACADEMIC TRAINING

Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (business administration, human resources, etc.) preferred.

WORK EXPERIENCE

5 to 7 years experience, including 3 years of experience in the field of diversity, equity and inclusion with a solid understanding of its principles and best practices.

SPECIFIC SKILLS

  • Experience in project management and change management.
  • Proficient knowledge of Google Suite to create powerful presentations for business units and Human Resources.
  • Ability to aggregate and validate data, as well as provide feedback to business stakeholders.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Team player and collaborative spirit.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Bilingualism (French and English) required. The incumbent will interact regularly with English-speaking customers and colleagues across Canada and the United States.
