Your role at Kittl

Our data function is a small, dedicated team but now ready to grow and evolve; so you’ll be making a huge impact. Kittl is scaling fast, and the need for data-driven insights and product development is becoming increasingly important.

As a Senior Data Scientist you’ll be instrumental in supporting the product teams with making the right decisions to continue Kittl’s growth. You will be forecasting and predicting the value that our tools deliver to our users. You will also lead the data team in developing practical machine learning applications in order to enable innovative and customer-facing product features. In doing so, you will have a proven impact on bringing Kittl’s mission to life.

What you'll do

• Data Analysis & Modeling: Use statistical methods to analyse data and generate useful business insights for our product teams.
• Ideation & KPI setting: Forming ideas and acting as a key strategic partner to product teams as we define roadmaps. You’ll be the person closest to the data and have a unique perspective on how users are interacting with different aspects of our product. With this knowledge, you will work closely with product managers and leadership to define the development roadmap for different areas of the Kittl platform.
• Ownership: Owning projects, data models, dashboards, and other artefacts and keeping them up-to-date and of high quality in a hyper growth environment
• A/B Testing: Design, execute, and analyse A/B tests and other experiments to optimise user conversion and retention.
• Model Development: as we scale, the need for advanced ML models is growing. We already have multiple projects in the pipeline, and you will lead the development of these.
• Data Culture: Maintain a culture of rigour and data-informed decision making to drive tangible business impact

What you’ll need

• Experience: 4+ years of experience developing and productionising Machine Learning models within fast-moving SaaS companies
• A/B testing: Experience setting up A/B tests, interpreting results, and measuring the business impact
• Cloud: Practical experience training models in a Cloud Environment (eg: AWS Sagemaker, Azure ML Studio, or GCP)
• Big data processing: Hands-on experience with big data processing / distributed data pipelines and tools such as Apache Airflow and Spark
• Python: Proficiency in programming in Python, software design, version control and code reviews
• Soft skills: Good communication skills and comfortable explaining complex ideas, with the ability to work in a collaborative environment where priorities and requirements may change in a short notice
• LLMs: Experience with training or fine-tuning AI models (LLMs) is a plus

• Take home case study (5 days)
• Case study presentation with Senior Data Scientist and Senior Product Manager (45 minutes)
• Bar raiser interview with Founders Associate, right hand to CEO (30 minutes)
