Who are we?

Oxa is enabling the transition to self-driving vehicles through an initial focus on the most commercially advanced sector; the autonomous shuttling of goods and people. We are home to some of the world’s leading experts on autonomous vehicles, creating solutions such as Oxa Driver, equipping vehicles with full self-driving functionality; Oxa MetaDriver, using Generative AI to accelerate and assure the safety of deployments; and Oxa Hub, a set of cloud-based offerings for autonomous fleet management. Our technology is being deployed across the UK and the U.S, and we’re partnering with a fast-growing ecosystem of operators, vehicle OEMs and equipment makers serving autonomous transportation globally as it advances.

Based in Oxford, and with offices in Canada and the U.S, Oxa was founded in 2014 and is growing rapidly (350+ ‘Oxbots’ to date). Our purpose is to change the way the Earth moves, through an uncompromising focus on safety, efficiency and explainability of our AI approaches. The company has attracted $225 million from leading investors so far, with $140 million raised in the last Series C funding round in January 2023.

Your Role:

Our Senior Principal Product Manager will report directly to our Chief Product Engineering Officer and will be a key member of Oxa’s product engineering leadership team. You will provide leadership guidance and direction from a product management perspective to product managers and teams across our Engineering function.

Our Senior Principal Product Manager will shape the product vision across Oxa’s portfolio. You will ensure that strong product management is embedded in every product engineering team, making use of customer-centric approaches, fostering market awareness, connecting with customers and working with teams to develop robust product roadmaps. The ideal candidate will be instrumental in guiding our product management teams to consistently deliver exceptional products that align with market demands and our company’s strategic goals.

This is a hands-on role. As well as providing direction and coaching for product managers and teams across the organisation, you will be expected to connect with customers and partners, build market data, and personally prepare product visions, specifications and roadmaps

Requirements

What you need to succeed:

  • Track record of creating commercially successful B2B products in a nascent industry.
  • Experience of leading product management (not necessarily by line management) across a large-scale, complex domain.
  • Track record of applying a customer-centric approach and driving it through an organisation.
  • Track record of building market data and leading teams to make better decisions based on insights from the data.
  • Track record of instilling strong product discipline across teams, not all of whom have their own product manager, helping them to build customer-centric product roadmaps.
  • Experience of applying metrics to understand customer behaviour and product performance, and using those to create insights which you use to improve the product.
  • Exceptionally clear written and verbal communications.

Extra kudos if you have:

  • Experience of mobility e.g. autonomy, or at least deploying products with a hardware element.

Your personality:

  • Loves to be a product visionary, advancing the state of the art where others have never gone before!
  • Simplifier - shaping products to provide customer-centric solutions that make complex challenges look relatively simple.
  • Approachable, confident and comfortable communicating with anyone!
  • Detail oriented - in autonomy the devil is in the detail and the detail is devilish.

Benefits

We provide:

  • Competitive salary, benchmarked against the market and reviewed annually
  • Hybrid and/or flexible work arrangements
  • An outstanding £3,000 flexible benefits including private medical insurance, critical illness coverage, life assurance, EAP, group income protection
