Advocacy and Communication Specialist

We are looking for a skillful advocacy and communication specialist who is passionate about climate justice to represent our Voices for Just Climate Action (VCA) program in the Netherlands.

Job context

The VCA program aims to ensure that local civil society groups and organizations have claimed a central role as creators, implementers and advocates of local climate solutions by 2025. For us, the climate crisis is about justice and human rights. Climate change has a devastating impact on people's lives and rights and exacerbates existing inequalities. The heaviest burden falls on the shoulders of those who already live in poverty or belong to underrepresented groups such as Indigenous peoples, young people and women.

That is why the program specifically supports locally-designed climate solutions and builds broad climate alliances at the local level to amplify the voices of those most affected by the climate crisis. At the same time, it tries to influence national and global climate finance policies to fund locally-designed solutions.
