Staff Frontend Software Engineer

About the team:

The Growth team is in the forefront of user experience at Creative Fabrica. We build and optimize key features of the platform (products and categories, search, logged in user experience) and make sure that every crafter in the world gets to know Creative Fabrica.

We move fast, experiment a lot, and yes sometimes we also break things - join us if this sits well with you! We work with small iterations, deploy multiple times a day, run experiments, learn from results and continuously improve the platform.

About the role:

We are looking for an experienced Staff Frontend Engineer to own some of the key components of Creative Fabrica, specifically the marketplace upper funnel (homepage, categories and products, search). This is the most popular area of the platform, which means scalability and performance challenges, as well as the opportunity to make a massive impact on the business. With over 20 million listed products, and our desire to iterate and experiment fast, we need to take our platform to the next level and set ourselves up for further growth.

What you will do:

• Co-create the technical strategy and architecture for the main creativefabrica.com website, and drive the necessarily technology changes.
• Build and lead a community of (senior) engineers with diverse skill sets and help them grow.
• Be an active hands-on contributor to the codebase.
• Be an advocate for modern development practices.

What you will need to have:

• Proficient with modern web development toolchain (Typescript, React, Next.js, GraphQL, TailwindCSS, and Turborepo).
• Solid understanding of web fundamentals and web performance.
• Strong understanding and commitment to software development best practices, including code quality standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
• Experience mentoring and coaching (senior) frontend engineers
• Be a thought leader among the engineering community at Creative Fabrica.
• Exceptional communication skills and sense of ownership.

It would be great if you could also bring:

• Experience in building high-traffic B2B / B2C products, particularly marketplaces/ecommerce.
• Awareness of SEO fundamentals.
• Production experience with AWS.
