Your career is an investment that grows over time!

Wealthsimple is on a mission to help everyone achieve financial freedom by reimagining what it means to manage your money. Using smart technology, we take financial services that are often confusing, opaque and expensive and make them transparent and low-cost for everyone. We’re the largest fintech company in Canada, with over 3 million users who trust us with more than $40 billion in assets.

Our teams ship often and make an impact with groundbreaking ideas. We're looking for talented people who keep it simple and value collaboration and humility as we continue to create inclusive and high-performing teams where people can be inspired to do their best work.

We’re building the world’s most human financial company, using technology to scale the value we provide to our clients, and people to add value where only humans can. The Private Client team is about providing the highest level of advice and service to our high net worth clients, a segment that is growing at an accelerating pace.

The primary focus of the Manager of the Private Client team is to build an industry-leading high net worth experience that integrates a technology first approach. This leader will work closely with Sales leadership, Operations and Product Marketing to develop and run a service level that builds long lasting trust with our clients.

Today the financial services industry is an oligopoly dominated by five big banks. They charge high fees, and provide poor service to clients with less than $3M in net worth. Additionally over $2T in assets are in the Wealth Management sector and a large portion of these assets are investing with high fees and poor returns. We believe that it is time for something different for Canadians. While many financial services companies are focused on high net worth clients, we have seen first hand in our growth of this group that they value a new tech-enabled approach that can provide more value, transparency and quality advice, at a lower cost.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Lead and grow the Private Client team focused on providing an unprecedented experience to our high net worth clients.
  • Coach and develop a team of advisors, financial planners and private client managers (a role similar to a private banker).
  • Foster a positive and aligned work environment and collaborate with many other teams and leaders across functions.
  • Own your net deposits targets, activity metrics and performance, optimizing for sales funnel, productivity and client experience.
  • Leverage data to uncover insights that drive team optimization.
  • Develop and deliver the ultimate private client journey.
  • Work directly with our largest clients and prospective clients.

Skills and experience we’re looking for:

  • Client-focused - Always put the client first
  • People Management - Must have at least 2 years experience in a previous management role or 2 years of Wealthsimple experience to be considered for this role.
  • Track Record - Record of consistently driving a team to hit KPIs.
  • Client Experience - Must have 5 years experience working with high net worth clients in financial services.
  • Designations - CFP or IQFP at minimum.
  • Analytical - Proactively uncovering insights through data to drive recommendations
  • Adaptability - Priorities and direction can evolve quickly. You should have a positive can-do attitude and be adaptable to evolving business goals
  • Strong communication - With the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders and lead with context
  • Self-starter - When you see a need, you address it.
  • Well Connected - You have a network of relationships with a range of professionals working with high net worth clients.
