Vara’s AI-powered software platform, created with screening radiologists in Germany, mitigates much of the human subjectivity associated with reading mammography results—and reduces the repetitive work screening physicians are routinely subjected to—we’re making breast cancer screening more effective, more measurable, and more accessible for everyone, everywhere. Further information can be found on our website: www.vara.aiWe are looking for a Product Designer to join us for the next 12 months. As part of your role, you'll have the opportunity to:

• Conduct comprehensive UX research using methodologies such as interviews, surveys, usability testing, and A/B prototype testing
• Synthesize research findings into actionable recommendations and strategies for UX/UI solutions
• Partner with product managers, developers, and stakeholders to define user requirements and project objectives
• Demonstrate end-to-end ownership of the design process for major product areas that are critical to the success of the business
• Collaborate closely with development teams to ensure successful implementation of design solutions
• Develop and maintain style guides and design systems, ensuring consistency and scalability
• Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in UX/UI design to drive innovation and excellence
• Iterate designs based on user feedback, stakeholder input, and usability testing results
• Multiple years of experience in the fields of prototyping, user testing, visual and interaction design, ideally some of gained at an early stage, series A or series B startup
• Outstanding design portfolio that showcases your strengths in user interface design, user experience, and interaction design logic and the reasoning behind your decisions
• Expertise in design and prototyping in Figma
• Strong ability to present and defend your design decisions towards your team and stakeholders
• Able to take the initiative to make or facilitate decisions
• Strong communication and presentation skills in both spoken and written English and German
