Based in our London office responsible for underwriting enterprise customer applications.
This is an amazing opportunity to kickstart your career as part of a diverse team focusing on
Due Diligence, Credit Exposure and Financial Analysis.

This role offers a unique exposure to our core business areas, collaborating closely with our
key internal players (Business Development, Sales, Risk Legal teams and Senior
Management) and our high-value merchants and partners.

How youโ€™ll make an impact

  • Conduct business model analysis in line with internal policy guidelines and apply evaluation techniques to achieve the desired results for complex deals.
  • Make underwriting recommendations in accordance with frameworks and calculate exposure in line with existing guidance with the ability to tailor the approach based on merchant specifics.
  • Complete financial analysis of profit and loss, balance sheet and cash flow statements and demonstrate a competent understanding of accounting principles.
  • Complete due diligence checks and analysis into second-line Compliance teams for high-risk applications.
  • Underwrite high-risk lines of business including travel, furniture, ticket and events, securities, gambling etc.
  • Prepare detailed oral and written summaries to assess micro and macro risks, and mitigating factors and make balanced recommendations to present to management and the Credit Risk Committee.
  • Collaborate with Sales or Account Management and represent Underwriting in customer calls and meetings.

Requirements

What weโ€™re looking for:

  • 1-2 years experience in a similar underwriting or payments role or recent strong graduate ideally, but not limited to, in an Accounting, Business or Finance-related field.
  • Adaptable, analytical and open-minded with a drive and passion to build a career in fintech or payments.
  • Good IT skills, especially in Excel/Google Sheets.
  • Be confident in building effective working relationships and working as part of a team.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and knowledge of financial statements.
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure, and deliver results against a tight deadline.
