Orthopaedic Technologist

The Orthopedic Technologist will work under the direction of the orthopedic/plastic surgeons and in collaboration with other members of the health care team of professionals in the fracture clinic.

Accountabilities:

• Provides care to clients with orthopedic problems through the application, adjustment and removal of a variety of cast splints and traction fittings following medical orders of the ortho/plastic surgeon or the most responsible physician of the patient

Requirements

• Grade 12 or equivalent required
• Current registration with Canadian Society of Orthopedic Technologist preferred
• Three years experience as ortho technologist preferred
• Good communication skills (verbal and written) required
• Emergency experience required
• Good interpersonal skills, ability to work with a multidisciplinary team required
• Knowledge and use of basic computer program preferred

• May be required to travel between and work at all Osler sites
