Our Home is seeking a talented and detail-oriented Labeling Specialist to join our team. The Labeling Specialist will be responsible for ensuring all product labels meet regulatory requirements and company standards. This role involves creating, reviewing, and maintaining accurate and compliant labels for all snack products, including those certified as organic, gluten-free, vegan and kosher. The Labeling Specialist will work closely with the Quality Assurance, Marketing, and Production teams to ensure labels are accurate and up-to-date.

Responsibilities:

  • Label Development and Review:
    • Develop and review product labels to ensure they comply with regulatory requirements (FDA, USDA, etc.) and industry standards.
    • Ensure labels accurately reflect product ingredients, nutritional information, allergen statements, and certification logos (Organic, Gluten-Free, Vegan, Kosher).
  • Regulatory Compliance:
    • Stay updated on labeling regulations and standards, including changes in federal, state, and international requirements.
    • Implement and maintain labeling processes and procedures to ensure compliance with applicable regulations.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration:
    • Work closely with the Quality Assurance, Marketing, and Production teams to ensure labels are accurate, compliant, and aligned with brand guidelines.
    • Coordinate with suppliers and certification bodies to obtain and verify required documentation for label claims.
  • Documentation and Record Keeping:
    • Maintain accurate records of all label versions, changes, and approvals.
    • Ensure proper documentation is in place for all labeling claims and certifications.
  • Continuous Improvement:
    • Identify opportunities for improving labeling processes and systems.
    • Implement best practices to enhance label accuracy and efficiency.
  • Label Printing and Production:
    • Work with production teams to troubleshoot and resolve any labeling issues during manufacturing.
  • Communication and Reporting:
    • Communicate labeling requirements and updates to relevant departments.
    • Prepare and present labeling compliance reports to management.

Requirements

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Food Science, Nutrition, Regulatory Affairs, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2-4 years of experience in food labeling, regulatory affairs, or a related field.
  • Experience with organic, gluten-free, vegan and kosher certification processes is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of food labeling regulations and standards.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Familiarity with labeling software and tools is a plus.
  • This position may require occasional travel to manufacturing sites or industry events.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Flexibility to work outside regular business hours as needed.
