Morris Midwest MN, a regional distributor of CNC machine tools, tooling and accessories, and related engineering and support services, is seeking a high-reaching and success driven Capital Sales Engineer. We are looking for someone who has a Machine Tool, technical, or manufacturing sales background. This role will provide exciting opportunities to work for a dynamic company in a fast-paced, growing industry.

Summary of Responsibility:

As a Capital Sales Engineer, you will be responsible for preparing action plans for effective search of sales leads and prospects to cover and support the territory. This role collaborates with Engineering, Service, Contract Administration and management to provide accountability and follow-up for our customers.

What You Will Contribute:

  • Maintaining involvement on turnkey projects, demonstrations and other customer related projects to meet timelines and budget.
  • Interacting with customers and engineers on pre-sale activities including customer visits, evaluation of opportunities, machine and part processing assessments and recommendations, and development of turnkey proposals.
  • Integrating sales and individual activity into CRM system (Salesforce).
  • Making accurate cost estimates, writing engineering reports, and interpreting plans and specifications.
  • Possessing and maintaining an in-depth knowledge of machine tool industry and product lines represented by the company.
  • Programming and setting up CNC lathes, CNC vertical or horizontal mills.
  • Developing/implementing custom demonstrations and training customers in the safe set up and operation of CNC machining centers, lathes, and/or multi-tasking machines.
  • Possessing and maintaining an in-depth technical knowledge of product lines represented by the company.

Qualifications & Competencies:

  • Understanding of customer and market dynamics with 1-2 years sales experience
  • Possess strong, professional communication and presentation skills
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and CRM software, specifically Salesforce.com
  • Technical capability preferred
  • Frequent travel throughout a regional sales territory is vital. Tolerance for travel and overnight stays
  • Willingness to be trained into other machines beyond our flagship lines, Okuma & Tsugami.
