ISTA Solutions, an outsourcing/offshoring company, is in search of an experienced Patient Care Coordinator to join our rapidly expanding team. Duties and responsibilities:

Patient Interaction:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for patients seeking assistance with appointments, medical records, billing, and general inquiries.
  • Provide clear and compassionate communication to patients and their families, ensuring their concerns are addressed promptly and effectively.
  • Assist patients in navigating healthcare services, including providing information on available services and coordinating care.

Appointment Scheduling:

  • Schedule and confirm patient appointments, coordinating with various departments to ensure availability and efficiency.
  • Manage appointment cancellations, rescheduling, and follow-up appointments as needed.

Billing and Insurance Assistance:

  • Answer patient inquiries related to billing, insurance coverage, and payment options.
  • Assist patients in understanding their medical bills, insurance statements, and financial responsibility.
  • Coordinate with the billing department to resolve any discrepancies or issues.

Patient Records Management:

  • Assist patients with accessing their medical records, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Update patient information in the healthcare system accurately and promptly.

Customer Service:

  • Handle patient complaints and concerns with empathy and professionalism, escalating issues to the appropriate department when necessary.
  • Strive to create a positive experience for all patients, enhancing overall patient satisfaction.

Collaboration:

  • Work closely with healthcare providers, administrative staff, and other departments to ensure seamless patient care and communication.
  • Participate in team meetings and training sessions to stay informed of policy changes and best practices.

Requirements

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree in healthcare administration or related field preferred.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a customer service role, preferably within a healthcare setting.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology, healthcare insurance, and patient billing is a plus.

Skills:

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Proficient in using healthcare management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Empathy, patience, and a commitment to providing exceptional patient care.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle stressful situations calmly.
