Head of Direct Tax

The Head of Direct Tax will be responsible for effective planning, management, control and optimization of zooplus groups tax position. Together with the highly motivated and skilled team, the Head of Direct Tax will coordinate and manage all direct tax matters relating to entities within the group as well as identifying and implementing tax processes and solutions according to regulatory and governance standards.

Your Tasks:

• Disciplinary leadership, responsibility for budget and results
• Development and implementation of a tax strategy,
• Assessing possibilities for change in order to improve the effective tax rate and tax-related cash management,
• Analysis of tax implications and provision of internal tax services across all business functions,
• Collaboration with internal teams to ensure business needs and to meet company objectives,
• Monitoring changes in tax regulations and their implications,
• Ensuring tax compliance (returns/filings, payments) and mitigation of tax risks,
• Support and development of tax department team members and ensuring high engagement,
• Managing relationships with internal stakeholders, tax authorities and external tax advisors,
• Ensuring an efficient use of internal and external resources (time & budget),
• Effective digitalization and transformation of the tax function.

Requirements

• Job experience: 5-10 years experience in tax advisory, accountancy firms and/or corporate tax departments
• Professional skills: comprehensive and broad tax knowledge
• Management skills: ability to influence and engage direct and indirect reports and peers
• Degree in business administration/finance/law/tax
• Professional certification: certified tax advisor (Steuerberater)
• Fluency in English and German
