The Executive Content & Strategic Initiatives Senior Manager is a critical role within the Office of the Chief Commercial Officer (CCO), reporting directly to the Senior Director, Executive Strategy. This role involves delivering strategic writing, thought leadership, and content for CCO communications โ€“ as well as driving strategic initiatives to engage, educate, and influence different external stakeholders globally.

This is an exciting opportunity for a strategic thinker with a proven track record of driving executive communications, thought leadership, and strategic initiatives cross-functionally.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Initiatives & Writing:

  • Write, edit, and proofread compelling and impactful content for various platforms โ€“ tailored to senior executives. Shape and adapt existing content to ensure consistency and industry relevance โ€“ capturing the voice of ServiceNowโ€™s senior executives.
  • Develop storylines/writing and orchestrate strategic initiatives that help us articulate our industry-specific value proposition, customer lighthouse stories, and strategic priorities.
  • Deliver strategic insights to the OCCO and other cross-functional teams to influence the CCOโ€™s external positioning โ€“ including analyst and media interactions and selected customer events (e.g., executive roundtables).

Thought Leadership Strategy:

  • Work closely with our Executive Communications team to develop and drive a cohesive communication strategy closely aligned to the CCOโ€™s commercial strategy and priorities โ€“ addressing the right thought leadership topics and overall market trends.
  • Support the CCO in positioning ServiceNow as an industry leader by creating targeted high-quality strategic writing, thought leadership, and insights for his external communication (incl. event narratives, keynotes, and articles). Use data to evaluate the communication activities and develop best practices and strategies for improvement.

Cross-Functional Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Drive various company-wide initiatives and strong internal teaming with cross-functional teams (e.g., Executive Communications, Executive Marketing) to ensure the CCO is fully prepared for his external engagements โ€“ with a point of view that resonates with different audiences.
  • Collaborate with senior leaders in the OCCO to thoughtfully prioritize, simplify, and coordinate CCO content/writing to maximize his commercial priorities and build strong relationships with key external stakeholders (e.g., analysts, industry influencers).

Requirements

  • Current location on the East Coast, United States (NYC area preferred)
  • 10+ years of relevant experience in strategic communications, content development, writing, thought leadership โ€“ or other relevant experience (e.g., consulting).
  • Previous experience in a strategic or commercial role within the enterprise software industry or in strategy consulting would be beneficial โ€“ unique blend of Communication, Strategy and Sales.
  • Proven track record of supporting senior executives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Experience crafting executive-level thought leadership, social strategies, presentations and other content โ€“ ideally with advanced proficiency in PowerPoint
  • Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities โ€“ with the capacity to interpret data and provide actionable insights.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and drive strong work-back plans, designed to drive measurable goals and business outcomes.
  • Experience working in a matrixed cross-geo environment; strong cross-functional collaboration skills and ability to drive coordination across stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills โ€“ with the ability to work independently or as part of a team, managing multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • High energy, strong work ethic, and the ability to manage change and ambiguity with an action-oriented approach โ€“ with the ability to perform under pressure and go the extra mile.
  • Understanding of ServiceNow platform, competitor landscape, customer landscape and corporate strategy to help CCO engage externally.
  • Deep understanding of SaaS and technology industry trends, with the ability to translate complex concepts into clear, compelling narratives.
  • Willingness to travel up to 20% with possibly some international and work a flexible, fluctuating schedule.
  • For positions in the NY area, we offer a base pay of $155,600 - $272,400, plus equity (when applicable), variable/incentive compensation and benefits. Sales positions generally offer a competitive On Target Earnings (OTE) incentive compensation structure. Please note that the base pay shown is a guideline, and individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, competencies and work location. We also offer health plans, including flexible spending accounts, a 401(k) Plan with company match, ESPP, matching donations, a flexible time away plan and family leave programs (subject to eligibility requirements). Compensation is based on the geographic location in which the role is located, and is subject to change based on work location.
