Vice Director of IT Infrastructure Services

You will join the IT department and lead teams that cover the scopes of Networking, Compute, Storage and Core Systems. This is a challenging opportunity to reshape and transform Swissquote’s infrastructure as code and guide your teams to meet the department’s objective to deliver a fully automated infrastructure platform as a service.

We are looking for a strong leader that will instill a sense of drive in his teams and lead them through this major modernization effort. You must have technical acumen, exceptional diplomatic skills, and a proven track record in developing an engineering culture within teams. Your expertise will assist in developing strategies to counter resistance to change and provide attractive solutions for our internal customers.

You will report to the Director of IT and work closely with IT architects and Performance Analysts to plan and execute the department’s long term technical objectives while providing reliable service for our customers.

Responsibilities:

• Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
• Develop and implement strategies aligned with the company's goals and objectives.
• Oversee network architecture, server infrastructure, and storage solutions.
• Implement and manage disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
• Identify potential barriers to change and develop strategies to overcome them.
• Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, standards, and best practices.
• Oversee IT operational concerns, ensure efficiency of on-call and support roles.
• Negotiate pricing and conditions with third-parties, vendors and service providers.

Requirements

Minimum:

• Notable experience in capacity planning, budgeting and long term planning.
• 10+ years of experience in IT infrastructure management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
• Proven experience in managing complex IT environments and leading large-scale infrastructure projects.
• Extensive experience in alternate industries such as telco, manufacturing, aviation or pharmaceutics.
• Strong understanding of network architecture, server infrastructure, cloud computing, and cybersecurity.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, capable of working with multi-functional technical and business teams, along with different levels of management to influence decision making.

Ideally:

• Prior experience within Swissquote with working relationships with key players in management and staff.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and balance internal and business projects.
• Knowledge of BGP, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and other network protocols.
• Experience with routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers.
• Proficiency in virtualization and containerization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V, LXC, docker, podman).
• Understanding of SAN, NAS, and DAS storage systems.
• Extensive Experience in IT system CI/CD.
• Comfortable with Infrastructure as Code tooling (puppet, ansible, terraform, etc.).
