Zowie is now opening up the search for a rigorous and strategic finance leader to join us as Head of Finance and guide our financial operations through the next phases of our dynamic growth.

Responsibilities:

• Month-end financial closing: coordinate AR/AP and month-end close process, deliver management consolidation in SaaS-specific Chart of Accounts (COA) and a monthly reporting package
• Reporting: develop a reporting function according to the changing needs of a fast-growing tech startup
• Budgeting and forecasts: prepare long-term budgets & forecasts, coordinate revisions & BvA reporting
• Cash liquidity management: develop treasury function and efficiently manage the company’s cash surplus
• Intercompany settlements: maintain and develop transfer pricing model; execute IC settlements
• Compliance: ensure accounting and tax compliance (PL/US GAAP)
• Fundraising and investor relations: support founders in all finance-related discussions with and requests from current and potential investors; prepare data rooms and coordinate due diligence processes
• Hiring and payroll: coordinate payroll for different contract types and geographies
• Team and stakeholders management: lead internal Finance team and supervise cooperation with external accounting & payroll teams as well as legal counsels, banks, and advisors
• ESOP: administer the company’s stock option plan through the Carta platform
• Process improvements: spot and remove inefficiencies in accounting, financial, and operational processes
• Contract management: review financial aspects of all commercial contracts (customer-, vendor- and employee-related)

Required competencies:

• 2+ years of experience owning a finance function in an organization
• Proven track record of managing a team
• Strong understanding of Polish GAAP
• Significant exposure to international accounting
• Some transactional M&A or fundraising experience
• Strong Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) skills
• Great command of financial modeling (Excel/Google Sheets)
• Ability to manage communications with senior stakeholders effectively
• Experience working with legal teams and contract law
• Fluency in business English
• Strong organization and planning skills
• Drive to learn, be challenged, and grow rapidly

It'd be great if you also have:

• Business mindset - drive to understand not just financials but business factors and dynamics
• Good understanding of Polish tax law
• Experience in venture fundraising, including the coordination of financial due diligence
• SaaS business model understanding
• Intercompany settlements experience
• Knowledge of financial reporting best practices
• Experience managing employee stock option plans (ESOP)
