About this role:

The Business Analyst is a key role for the USGA, focused on driving business technology solutions that enhance and transform how we work together. The Business Analyst serves as a liaison between IT & business end users, analyzing business requirements for technology projects, and partnering with internal and external development teams to ensure specifications are met. The Business Analyst will also support Project Managers in developing project plans, coordinating daily efforts with product and technology leads, delivering the product to end users, and transitioning daily support to the operations team. The ideal candidate will be an effective communicator with a solid business acumen, along with strong analytical and project management skills.

What you'll do:

  • Builds and maintains strong relationships with business partners and acts as a liaison between Internal and External Information Technology teams and the business partners
  • Develops use cases to explain / demonstrate business requirements and specifications to IT team, and contributes business partner’s perspective during design reviews.
  • Reviews all product intake to assist with defining defects and partner with the business on writing user stories.
  • Develops and oversees the requirements traceability component of requirements management
  • Performs requirements elicitation, documentation, review and approval.
  • Interacts with the business owner to oversee the requirements change request process
  • Facilitates requirements and design sessions with user community and communicates these requirements to the development team for the design and implementation of solutions.
  • Communicates business priorities to the technology organization to drive effective business solutions.
  • Provides input to the development of formal business cases for all assigned projects.
  • Partners on ideation during Innovation Phase with third party vendor.
  • In partnership with QA, ensures UAT is complete and the business requirements are met.
  • Provide Project Management leadership across multiple initiatives, varying in complexity and duration

Where you'll be:

  • This role will be based at our Liberty Corner, NJ campus on a hybrid schedule. Employees are expected to spend 3 days per week working in the office, between Monday - Thursday.

What you bring:

    • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Technology, Business Administration or related field
    • 5+ years experience work experience as a business analyst, technical project manager, or similar capacity
    • Ability to serve in a Business Analyst-type role for planning and requirements, and pivot to a Project Manager role for implementation and ongoing support
    • Project management experience, ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently with strong organizational, negotiation, documentation, and vendor management skills.
    • Strong communication and analytical skills, to critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, and ability to translate that to detailed business requirements
    • Familiarity with Agile principles
    • Financial and contractual aptitude, and conflict management and negotiation experience is a plus
    • IIBA, CBAP, PMP certifications are a plus
    • Knowledge and/or interest in golf, sport, and non-profit work is a plus
    • Project management experience, ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently with strong organizational, negotiation, documentation, and vendor management skills.
    • Exposure to a wide array of data and systems including Event Management, handicapping, Finance and legal applications. Experience supporting any of these areas and their IT needs.
