We are looking for an experienced Senior Editor for Sweden to join the Spotify Music Editorial team in Stockholm. In this role, you will contribute to the Nordic Music team by curating exceptional music playlists that resonate across various moods, moments, and genres. You will maintain a balanced and unbiased editorial voice, while also leveraging your passion for data-driven performance analytics. Your deep understanding of the Swedish music community will enable you to make informed decisions and offer culturally relevant music experiences. Your contributions will significantly influence how audiences worldwide engage with and enjoy music.

Editorial at Spotify refers to the curation and programming of content and music. Our focus is to provide the best and most culturally relevant music experience for users with a focus on new music and discovery.

What You'll Do

  • Be the culture expert and proactively identify music trends and opportunities for Spotify.
  • Focus on the daily music programming and editorial strategy for Sweden and work closely with the Editorial team across the Nordic region.
  • Listen to music from a wide range of genres and identify appropriate programming opportunities.
  • Stay informed on the latest developments in the music industry, including emerging artists, genres and trends
  • Curate, develop and maintain various playlists across Spotify’s ecosystem.
  • Creatively direct social media and marketing campaigns for playlist brand extensions.
  • Understand and gain insight of consumer behaviors by analyzing data and analytics.
  • Provide a strong, unbiased editorial voice to create a first-class user experience.
  • Partner with cross functional teams to ensure editorial content aligns with broader business objectives
  • Collaborate with the Global Editorial Teams on a variety of projects and programming initiatives.
  • Amplify editorial voice on and off the platform in various company strategic projects and goals.
  • Work closely with product teams to integrate human music expertise and cultural insights into product development and features.

Who You Are

  • You are immersed in music daily, with an extensive knowledge of both music and culture, with a particular focus on Sweden.
  • With over 3 years of experience in the music industry, you've specialized in programming and curating music for TV, radio, digital platforms, or other media, where creating music experiences and connecting audiences with artists and creators has been a core part of your mission.
  • You possess a perfect level of written and spoken Swedish and English.
  • Your understanding of music spans all genres and styles, and you have a strong intuition for selecting the perfect music for different situations.
  • You have a proven track record of discovering emerging artists, songs, and trends ahead of the mainstream.
  • You are numerate and adept at analyzing and interpreting data and using it to set goals.
  • You pay attention to details and organization, have a strong work ethic, and a friendly, warm attitude.
  • You’re able to demonstrate a strong understanding of - and experience with - Spotify as a user and fan.
  • Finally, you're a great teammate, adapt well to change, and always have a positive attitude.
