Senior Consumer Product Development Manager

Job Overview:
We are looking for a Senior Product Development Manager who is highly resourceful and self-sufficient to lead product development efforts across a variety of categories, including durable goods and consumable CPG products. The ideal candidate will have substantial experience in managing the end-to-end product development process, working directly with factories, and coordinating with supply chain teams. This role requires a hands-on approach, strong research abilities, and the flexibility to work across different time zones to bring innovative products to market.

Salary:

• $30,000 - $40,000 annually before taxes (based on experience)

Key Responsibilities:

• Product Development: Manage the product development process for multiple brands, ensuring products are designed, developed, and launched on time and within budget.
• Category Management: Oversee the development of products across diverse categories, including durable goods (e.g., pillows, towels, air purifiers) and consumable products (e.g., laundry detergents, pest control solutions, food items).
• Factory Liaison: Collaborate closely with factories and manufacturers to develop product specifications, manage prototypes, and ensure quality standards are met.
• Market Analysis: Conduct research to understand market trends, consumer needs, and competitive landscapes, using this information to guide product design and positioning.
• Supply Chain Collaboration: Work with the supply chain team to coordinate production schedules, manage logistics, and ensure timely delivery of products.
• Global Communication: Maintain effective communication with teams and suppliers across various time zones, ensuring all aspects of product development are aligned and progressing smoothly.
• Problem Solving: Identify and address any issues that arise during product development, using a proactive and solutions-oriented approach.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in product development, with a track record of managing successful product launches across different categories.
• Experience working directly with factories and manufacturers, with a strong understanding of production processes and quality control.
• Demonstrated experience in developing products that have been successfully launched in national retailers, particularly in electronics or consumable product categories.
• Strong research skills, with the ability to quickly learn and adapt to new product categories and market demands.
• Excellent communication and project management skills, with experience working across time zones and with international teams.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
