Summary of Duties:
As a Post-doctoral scholar in the Griswold Lab, a successful candidate will develop their own project and aid in laboratory projects investigating the role of vitamin A in testicular function. The successful candidate will be highly motivated and enjoy a collaborative atmosphere with the lab and the School of Molecular Biosciences.
Responsibilities Include:
- Investigating how Sertoli cells and germ cells regulate the synthesis of a retinoic acid pulse.
- Presenting the research through poster/oral presentation and peer-reviewed publication.
- Designing, carrying out, and troubleshooting experiments in the lab.
- Demonstrating commitment to promoting diversity in the workplace.
- Coordinate, manage, and maintain daily lab operations.
- Oversee quality control, make suggestions for improvement in techniques and interpretation.
- Supervise undergraduate/graduate students in the lab.
- Perform other duties as required.
Required Qualifications:
- Ph.D. in Genetics, Physiology, Biochemistry, Cell Biology or a related field.
- Experience with histological and microscopy techniques.
- Experience in bioinformatics and gene expression profiling.
- Experience with microscopy, DNA, RNA, and protein extraction, and qRT-PCR.
- Excellent computer skills, especially with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, EndNote, and Mac OS.
- The ability to problem-solve and learn new experimental techniques.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Outstanding communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Basic knowledge of mammalian reproduction, especially male.

Annual Salary:
$54,000 - $65,000 | Commensurate with experience.
In accordance with RCW 49.58.110, the above salary reflects the full salary range for this position. Individual placement within the range is based on the candidate’s current experience, education, skills, and abilities related to the position or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination.

This is a temporary non-tenure track faculty position.
Temporary End Date: This temporary position is expected to end on September 30, 2026. Renewal is dependent on the need for an extension and/or if additional funding is secured to extend employment.
