The Role:

  • Systems Engineer - Automation
  • Galway, Ireland
  • Hybrid role โ€“ must be based commutable distance from Galway as 2/3 days onsite will be required.
  • Contractor/ Permanent

Role Brief:

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering automated equipment solutions from concept through to full implementation. You will also participate in Machine control system software design, development & commissioning

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Design and integrate control system software for automated machinery, including PLCs, robotics, motion control, HMI, SCADA, and vision systems.
  • Develop, test, commission, and provide ongoing support for machine control software.
  • Ensure equipment design adheres to CE, electrical, machinery safety, and client-specific standards.
  • Interpret and develop design and validation documentation required for regulated industries, such as URS, FDS, and FAT.
  • Specify control system components.
  • Collaborate closely with a multi-disciplinary project team throughout the entire project lifecycle.

Skills Brief:

  • Strong experience working with PLC & HMI systems preferably Allen Bradley in a GMP environment.
  • Knowledge of automated machine design, specification & development
  • Ability to create technical documentation
  • Familiarity with robotics, motion control, machine vision, pneumatics an advantage

Person Brief:

Bachelor's degree in Industry Automation, Mechatronics, Computer science, Electrical engineering or equivalent technical experience and demonstrated competence.

3+ years of experience in an automation engineering role with at least 2 years of this in Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) environments (Life Sciences, Pharma, Medical Devices).

Based in the Galway area or within a reasonable commute and able to be onsite daily as the role is an onsite role.
