Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will have full responsibility in ensuring the efficient operation and maintenance of facilities and utilities critical to the production process. Oversee the design, installation, and maintenance of systems such as Compressed Air, Chilled Process water, Building Fabric and other services to guarantee a safe and uninterrupted manufacturing environment.

  • Develop and manage preventative maintenance programs for all site facilities and utilities.
  • Implement and maintain the site compliance tracker to ensure legal compliance in all relevant areas.
  • Perform daily checks at all site facilities to ensure functionality and safety, reporting and rectifying any hazards found.
  • Train the site engineering team in the operation of main site utilities to ensure timely resolution of out-of-hours issues.
  • Identify and implement opportunities for improving energy efficiency and sustainability.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to other departments as needed.
  • Manage and coordinate on-site contractors, ensuring adherence to all health and safety regulations.
  • Further develop the Sinica Permit to Work system to suit the Sutton site.
  • Collaborate with the Engineering Manager to prioritize site facility improvement projects.
  • Manage site documentation, including site plans, electrical plans, and installation records.
  • Produce standard operating procedures (SOPs) for all facility and utility assets for the site engineering team.

Carry out small-scale facility improvements and infrastructure repairs.

Requirements

  • Electrically qualified and competent in carrying out machinery installations.
  • Extensive hands-on engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proven experience with HV/LV systems, chilled water systems, air compressors, and Building Management Systems (BMS).
  • Strong understanding of compliance regulations, including EICR, pressure systems, working at height, and CDM.
  • Good understanding of the Permit to Work system; IOSH training is ideal but can be provided.
  • Experience managing small to mid-scale projects.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills in an engineering/manufacturing environment.
  • Effective time management and task prioritisation skills are crucial for success in this role.

This is a permanent role; your hours of work will be average 42.5 per week working days only (08:30 - 17:00).
