Business Development Manager Contract Logistics

In DFDS, the term Contract Logistics covers our offering of warehousing, cross docking and value added services. We operate warehousing facilities across all of Europe and are offering customised solutions to large industry customers across our network including a variety of add-ons to regular warehousing solutions such as labelling, de-palletising and more. Whether customers are in need of longer-term storage solutions, cross-docking capabilities including returns, display building etc. or are in need of temporary and short term storage, our Contract Logistics solution is tailored to fit this demand. Our Contract Logistics solutions are incorporated as part of our full supply chain offering and serve as both a stand alone offering and as part of 3PL and 4PL offerings

About the role

In the role as Business Development Manager, you will work with customers who have the potential to become very significant for us in the Netherlands-Belgium-France and/or Germany, which means, among other things, ensuring customer satisfaction and growth in the market. There are customers in all different types of industries. Your responsibility includes strategically planning the development of customers and reaching set goals for sales and growth. With your business spirit, you see business opportunities while always keeping an eye on key figures that are critical for the specific customer case. You will both drive and participate in new sales and renewal of existing business. Be a commercial support internally and for the customer. Be part of supporting our strategy and marketing activities with the commercial responsibility internally and externally for Contract Logistics. The work involves travel, but we also offer a dedicated office.

About you

We believe that you have a well-developed business understanding with analytical skills, are used to working independently and in a structured manner with great self-motivation. You inspire confidence and are good at creating long-term relationships with both customers and colleagues. You easily understand the customer's needs and are the link to our internal project management and the operation's various activities. You see the big picture for DFDS and the customer to create the best value in the logistics supply chain.

• Process potential customers and offer strategically important logistics solutions within Contract Logistics
• You are used to running business projects in close collaboration with the customer as well as internal specialists in solution design and operation
• You have industry experience from 3PL and an understanding of the supply chain
• You are aware of the industries we work towards and follow their trends and requirements
• You have a driving license and see no problem with traveling for work
• Fluent in spoken & written English and Dutch
