What you’ll do

Become part of an iconic brand that is set to revolutionize the electric pick-up truck & rugged SUV marketplace by achieving the following:

• Responsible for Closure engineering and release CAD
• Manage the design of parts to ensure proper package and production release
• Conduct analysis of sections, components, and sub-systems to drive the design of individual parts to support the overall vehicle efficiencies
• Develop CAD to support design alternative studies and production development of parts
• Participate in collaborative design and creation of solutions for cost, weight, and efficient design
• Contribute to the design of production facilities for closures systems of the Scout trucks & SUVs
• Manage resources efficiently including external cad resources
• Be a key member within the closures team and liaison with Magna and external CAD sources
• Closures co-lead for tolerance development
• Closures lead for 3DX development and interaction with V5

Location & Travel Expectations: The responsibilities of this role require attendance at in-person meetings and events regularly. This role will be based out of the Scout Motors location in Novi, MI. Applicants should expect that the role will require the ability to convene with Scout colleagues in person and travel to participate in events on behalf of the company from time to time.

• Bachelor’s degree in design, vehicle design and or mechanical engineering, or a relevant field.
• Minimum 6+ years of experience in Closures or Body Structures CAD development and data collection (i.e. TCE, VW connect, or other similar systems)
• Expert in utilizing CATIA for designing and developing detailed parts.
• Expertise in V5 and 3DX (we will help with training to supplement 3DX transition)
• Willingness to Train team in 3DX usage
• Strong technical skills and expertise in sheet metal design and closures systems
• Familiarity with computer-aided engineering (CAE) or direct experience in this field.
• Strong communication skills.
• An ability to build strong working relationships with people across all organizational levels.
• Ability to manage remote teams that are in Mexico or off shores.

Pay Transparency

This is a full-time, exempt position eligible to receive a base salary and to participate in an annual performance bonus program. Final salary offered will be determined based on factors including but not limited to the candidate's skills and experience. The annual performance bonus program is preset and not candidate dependent.

Initial base salary range = $120,000-$135,000

Internal leveling code: IC9
