Senior Full Stack Engineer

Checkbook enables businesses to access the speed, flexibility and cost savings of digital payments, with the familiarity and simplicity of paper checks. By providing businesses an on-ramp from paper to digital payments, we can effectively onboard customers at any stage of their digital transformation process.

Job Overview:
As a Senior Full Stack Engineer at Checkbook, you'll be the captain of code, steering the ship of our web applications with Postgres, Python and a cast of frontend libraries as your crew. Together, we'll conquer the fintech seas and unlock the secrets of modern payments.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and architect exceptional web applications that exceed industry standards and captivate users
• Build and ship robust APIs, integrating with internal, partner and customer systems
• Ensure the security and integrity of our applications, safeguarding our users' valuable information
• Design and optimize large DB schemas, queries and objects to meet performance and functionality objectives
• Develop and implement automation tools and strategies to ensure the quality and stability of our web applications
• Stay up-to-date with the latest web technologies, industry trends, and best practices

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, or a related discipline
• 5+ years of experience working with Python, Postgres and frontend frameworks (e.g. React, Angular, Vue.js, Ember) to build robust web applications
• Familiarity with Python web frameworks including Flask, FastAPI and Django
• Ability to translate business requirements into effective software solutions
• Excellent problem-solving skills to tackle challenges and find creative solutions
• A background in fintech is a plus, but not required
