About This Opportunity

The is a great opportunity for an experienced Learning Design Officer to join the team and provide teaching and learning support to the Facultyโ€™s academic staff in the development of teaching and learning resources and activities, the development of educational media resources, and in the technical support of educational digital literacies. This is a broad role requiring excellent communication and interpersonal skills, good understanding of learning design in the educational environment and the ability to rapidly learn new skills and technologies.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Develop and Apply Pedagogical Knowledge: Create high-quality teaching and learning resources for online and on-campus delivery, leveraging advanced knowledge of learning frameworks to design blended and active learning environments. Inform instructional decisions using pedagogical principles.
  • Technical and Media Support: Provide technical support and troubleshooting for Learning Management Systems, assist in planning and producing educational media assets, and manage studio, laboratory, and field video production, focusing on camera preparation, lighting, sound recording, and editing.
  • Workload Management and Safety Compliance: Manage workload effectively, contribute to team culture, foster continuous improvement, and adhere to safety policies, especially during field or laboratory production work.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Establish and maintain strong collaborative linkages with diverse stakeholders, including academic, administrative and technical staff.
  • Support Project Management and Implementation: Assist with designated projects within the Teaching and Learning portfolio, potentially involving teamwork, curriculum input, and professional practice, along with performing any other duties as directed by your supervisor.

About You

  • A degree with subsequent relevant experience (preferably in an education or media production field or similar); or extensive experience and specialist expertise or broad knowledge in technical or media fields; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
  • Experience in developing educational resources with the ability to provide practical support to both traditional and technology-enabled approaches to curriculum, pedagogy and assessment.
  • Experience in using Adobe Creative Cloud, in particular Premiere Pro, or similar media technologies.
  • Exposure to educational digital tools and Learning Management Systems with the ability and willingness to learn new technologies.
  • Demonstrated commitment to responding to client needs, with the ability to work effectively with a range of stakeholders and colleagues in the development of learning content.
  • Effective time management skills and attention to detail with an ability to manage and complete tasks to a high standard with competing deadlines.
  • Demonstrated communication skills including written, interpersonal and oral communication skills, and the ability to develop relationships with clients.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team.
