As the Quality Engineer, you will be responsible for:

  • Collaborate with employees across various departments to enhance quality practices through daily coaching, tracking Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) projects, and utilizing Scorecards.
  • Implement and oversee the Idea Generation Process and Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA) processes. This involves clarifying and verifying ideas with relevant stakeholders, conducting spot checks, explaining validation reasons, and encouraging contributions to achieve defect-free operations.
  • Work with engineering teams on Concurrent Product and Process Development, New Product Introduction, design-to-production validation, engineering changes and deviations, supplier designs, specification approvals, and cost reduction initiatives.
  • Develop and implement quality control methodologies and systems proactively.
  • Support and integrate 5S/Lean Manufacturing principles and SAP within the Quality Certification system, assisting area owners in setting goals and standardizing practices.

Qualifications:

  • Experience:
    • Background in a foundry environment is a plus.
  • Skills and Knowledge:
    • Must have knowledge of metallurgy.
    • Quality Management: Extensive experience with quality management methods, tools, and techniques, and a proven ability to foster an environment that meets organizational quality goals.
    • Root Cause Analysis (RCA): Extensive experience with root cause analysis concepts, principles, and techniques, with the ability to systematically identify causes of issues and implement changes to prevent recurrence.
    • Collaboration: Working knowledge of collaborative techniques, with the ability to work constructively with diverse individuals and groups.
    • Problem Solving: Working knowledge of problem-solving approaches, tools, and techniques, with the ability to apply these methods to resolve organizational, operational, or process-related issues.
    • Accuracy and Attention to Detail: Extensive experience in maintaining high levels of precision and understanding the importance of accuracy.
    • Flexibility and Adaptability: Working knowledge of successful approaches to dealing with change, with the ability to adapt to a dynamic environment and manage change effectively.

Salary Range: $90,000 - $100,000

The actual salary offered is dependent on various factors including, but not limited to, location, the candidate’s combination of job-related knowledge, qualifications, skills, education, training, and experience.
