• Position: Frontend Engineer
• Location: Remote from Europe
• Type: Contractor (6 months, possibility of extension)
• Compensation: based on experience

Position Overview:

As a Frontend Engineer, you will play a crucial role in shaping the user experience (UX) of our Open-source Evaluation platform called Lumigator. Your primary focus will be to create intuitive, responsive, and engaging user interfaces that enable users to easily interact with our platform and evaluate large language models. Your main responsibilities are:

• You will be the first Front-end engineer in the team, so you will have the responsibility of, together with the product designer, defining and implementing the UI/UX of our product.
• We will need you available at least 3 days per week but we can be flexible.
• Develop and maintain the frontend of our cloud platform using modern frameworks, such as React or Angular.
• Collaborate with the product designers and product managers to create intuitive, user-friendly, and responsive interfaces that meet our users' needs.
• Optimize frontend performance, ensuring fast load times and a smooth user experience across various devices and browsers.
• Ensure that our platform is accessible and usable for all users, adhering to web accessibility standards and best practices.
• Work closely with backend developers and machine learning engineers to integrate frontend components with the platform's backend services.
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code, following frontend development best practices.
• Implement unit tests, end-to-end tests, and perform debugging to ensure the stability and functionality of the frontend application.
• Participate in the setup and maintenance of CI/CD pipelines for frontend applications.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a frontend developer, with demonstrated experience developing a strong portfolio showcasing your work in developing responsive and user-friendly web applications.
• Strong knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, with extensive experience in modern website development using React or Angular.
• Familiarity with frontend build tools (e.g., Webpack, Gulp) and libraries (e.g., Redux, Lodash).
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to troubleshooting and resolving issues.
