Department Overview

This department is responsible for improving the UI/UX of various features such as the top page, search, and shopping cart of Rakuten Ichiba, one of Japan's largest e-commerce sites in terms of traffic.

In this position, we are looking for a UX Designer to join projects from a UI/UX perspective, working with product managers, engineers, and UI designers on the app version of Rakuten Ichiba.

The UI/UX Director (Mobile app) we are recruiting will bridge the business and development, propose functional improvements, and take responsibility from decision-making within the business to release.

Position Details

In the Rakuten Ichiba app, you will mainly perform the following tasks:

Note: UI designers, UX researchers, product managers, and engineers are separately available.

- Understanding business requirements.

- Defining requirements, production direction, and inspection.

- Conducting competitive analysis and UI trend analysis.

- Conducting user research (quantitative/qualitative).

- Conducting usability tests.

- Planning A/B tests.

- Designing UI/UX for functional improvement projects.

- Creating wireframes.

- Measuring effectiveness after release.

Mandatory Qualifications:

Over 3 years of practical experience in UI/UX design for mobile apps.

Desired Qualifications:

- Experience in UI design.

- Experience using prototyping tools such as Figma.

- Experience in qualitative and quantitative user research.

- Experience in data analysis, KPI formulation, and effectiveness verification.

- Experience in launching and improving sites and apps for smart devices.

- Knowledge and practical application of logical thinking and design thinking.

- Experience in visualizing (quantifying) goals and executing towards achievement, including PDCA cycles.

- Experience proposing and executing plans through negotiations with various stakeholders.

- Experience in facilitating meetings.

- Experience in project management.

- Experience in product management.

- Experience in team management.

Additional information on English Qualification

TOEIC Score exceeding 800 (or similar level of English ability) or a University Degree earned in an English-speaking country.
