Civil Engineer Principal

As a Civil Engineer Principal, you will lead the construction management team under general direction. Your responsibilities will encompass all functions and activities within the Infrastructure Design and Construction division, specifically the Bureau of Construction Management, which manages an annual project portfolio worth approximately $1 billion. Additionally, you will oversee the construction of future Public Works assets, provide leadership in developing new programs, and establish organizational policies, priorities, and objectives.

As a Civil Engineer Principal, your responsibilities may include, but are not limited to the following:

• Leading the development and implementation of bureau goals, objectives, policies, and priorities.
• Overseeing and managing the construction and inspection functions for projects such as roadway repaving, reconstruction, sewer construction, curb ramp installation, traffic signal setup, and streetscape projects.
• Monitoring the bureau’s overall performance, coaching staff to develop and applying continuous improvement processes and strategies.
