Job Description

Calling a motivated Software Engineer interested in contributing to the development of advanced digital solutions that will craft the future of LEGO® Manufacturing!

In the Processing Technology team, we are focusing on driving the Digital Transformation for the mass manufacturing of the iconic LEGO® bricks. We are in lead for enabling the decoration and assembly of LEGO® elements, just like in the LEGO® Minifigure Visual History book. We work together with our partner teams to make sure our software solutions fit all our LEGO® factories round the world.

Core Responsibilities

Come join as our new Software Engineer and design, build, and implement intelligent end-to-end solutions that reduce the need for manual steps in the manufacturing process. Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code that contributes to software solutions for supporting our Manufacturing operations. Develop and maintain pipeline configurations that improve our engineering processes e.g. via Infrastructure as Code.

  • Participate in every step of the Software Development Lifecycle.
  • Contribute actively to the software engineering team, participating in agile development processes, code reviews, and sharing takeaways.
  • DevSecOps: “you build it - you own it” (and run it) with a keen eye on security by design.
  • Contribute to a positive and collaborative team culture that aligns with the values of the LEGO® Group.

Play your part in our team succeeding

Our agile product team plays a pivotal role in driving the development and evolution of the Processing Technology business area from a technical perspective. Unlike traditional project teams, our focus extends beyond the mere completion of tasks; we are committed to delivering ongoing value and innovation to our users. We are a fun international team with members both in Billund and Budapest.

We work closely with the product manager, lead engineer, digital designer, fellow engineers, and even other product teams to conceptualize, iterate and deliver features that address user needs and improve the overall product experience. Our expertise in software engineering will not only ensure the technical adaptability of our solutions but also contribute to the complete vision of our product roadmap.

This position is based in the LEGO® Digital Office in Budapest, Hungary. No relocation assistance is offered for this position.

Do you have what it takes?

The preferred candidate has a few years of experience as a full-stack engineer with solid knowledge in front-end languages and an openness to embrace new technologies.

To succeed in this role, you ideally have competence within the following:

  • Preferably some experience with back-end development in C#.
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS and/or Azure.
  • Understanding of microservices architecture, event-driven architecture, containerization, and orchestration technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Understanding of CI/CD, Git based source control and GitHub actions

We seek: Dedication to our field, demonstrating an actively growing expertise and showing passion for personal development. Effective presentation skills with passion to communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical partners.
