Platform Engineer, Lead

The Opportunity:

Everyone is trying to “harness the cloud,” but not everyone knows how. As a cloud computing application architect, you know how to create a cloud-based technical architecture that meets client needs and takes advantage of cloud capabilities. We need you to help us develop cloud-based solutions for some of world's toughest problems.

This is an opportunity to use the latest cloud technologies as you look for ways to improve your client’s environment using cloud capabilities. Your technical expertise will be vital as you work with clients to inform strategy and design, and ensure standards are met throughout the cloud migration process.

You’ll recommend tools and solutions based on your research of the environment and knowledge of various on-premises, cloud-based, and hybrid resources. You’ll lead your team as they help the client overcome their most difficult challenges in the cloud. Additionally, you’ll broaden your skill set while developing critical systems. Due to the nature of work performed within this facility, U.S. citizenship is required.

You Have:

• 8+ years of experience as a Software, Cloud, or Platform Engineer
• 4+ years of experience working in an Agile environment, participating in Sprint planning and estimation
• 2+ years of experience leading a team of 3+ engineers, including performing code reviews and mentoring junior engineers
• Experience with infrastructure or container management tools such as Terraform, Kubernetes, or Crossplane
• Experience with programming languages such as JavaScript, Typescript, Go, Java, or Python
• Experience with both greenfield and brownfield development
• Experience building solutions with re-use in mind
• Knowledge of data processing and analytics services such as Glue, EMR, Lake Formation, Redshift, Spark, or Databricks
• Bachelor’s degree

Nice If You Have:

• Experience in Cloud environments, including AWS, Microsoft Azure, and Google
• Master's degree in CS, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or an Engineering field

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $84,600.00 to $193,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
