We have an exciting opportunity for an Associate Director Systems Engineering - Systems Architect supporting one of our premier programs on the Aurora, CO Campus. This program has a planned hybrid cloud solution, where parts of the system will be migrated to the Cloud and other parts will remain on hardware. Knowledge of networking, infrastructure, and security, in addition to being experienced with designing/architecting solutions for the cloud are highly desired.

What You Will Do

  • Design, plan, and implement cloud-based infrastructure solutions that meet clients' business needs in alignment with industry best practices.
  • Deep understanding of cloud computing principles, including managed services, containerization, and server-less computing.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including business stakeholders, programs, customers, and cloud provider architects to ensure consistent execution of cloud-based systems.
  • Conduct architectural assessments of cloud-based systems to identify and address any vulnerabilities, inefficiencies, or opportunities for improvements
  • Understanding of cloud cost management, including estimating budgets, designing cost optimized solutions, and identifying cost savings opportunities
  • Guide programs through cloud migration journeys to ensure seamless transition and reliable execution of mission critical systems migrating to the cloud
  • Continuously monitor and evaluate emerging cloud technologies and services to stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices.

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Requires a Bachelor's Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum 12+ years of prior relevant experience
  • Active Top Secret / SCI Security Clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
  • Experience with architecture governance and design principles as well as experience conducting system architecture on systems that interact with external entities
  • Experience designing cloud security policies and controls, such as identity and access management, data classification and encryption, network segmentation and isolation
  • Experience with public and private cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, and Oracle Cloud
  • Cloud industry certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Certified Azure Solutions Architect, and/or Google Certified Professional Cloud Architect

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Strong analytical and problem solving abilities as well as demonstrated ability to effectively work with and communicate with management and individual contributors
  • Experience with any of the following: Cloud technologies and migration to the Cloud, Containerization and databases, Automation (Build, Deploy, Test), Agile tool sets (JIRA, Confluence, Bitbucket, etc.), and/or Evaluation of COTS/FOSS
  • Experience with different Architecture Frameworks
  • Experience working in DevOps and/or DevSecOps in an Agile development environment
  • Thorough working knowledge of: Architectural Modeling, Cloud and On-Prem Hybrid Architectures, Multiple Engineering Disciplines (Software, Database, Infrastructure, Security, Systems, Test), and/or IT products, services, and operations

The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
