Software Developer

Purpose

As a Software Developer for the Open Sovereign Cloud project (OSC) working on Gardener you will deliver the mission of helping customers run and use services based on containers with complete data sovereignty anywhere. At OSC, we are building a core set of functionalities that will allow our regulated and sectorial customers to create and use services based on Kubernetes at scale. You will be part of an exceptional team moving the needle towards making containers as the next generation compute platform. This is an opportunity to engineer a system on a massive scale and to gain top-notch experience in distributed systems and cloud computing.

WHAT WILL YOU DO?

• Develop the Open Sovereign Cloud environment.
• Program Kubernetes Operators/ backend systems.
• Analyze of the requirements and communication with internal stakeholders.
• Develop according to Agile methodology – SCRUM.
• Create a technical documentation.
• Participate on research & development projects.
• Work closely with other Developers, DevOps Engineers and Architects on implementation and testing of the developed solution.

Requirements

YOU WILL SUCCEED IF YOU:

• have 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• have deep understanding of Go programming language.
• are experienced with at least one of the following: Kubernetes, Rancher, OpenShift or other container orchestration platforms.
• have programmed Kubernetes operators.
• are experienced with design/architecting large-scale distributed systems preferably using public or private cloud technologies.
• are experienced with Test and Release pipelines.

Soft skills

Languages

• English – Upper intermediate (B2)

Other criteria or requirements

• Several years of experience working in IT industry
• Advanced experience with programming and application design
• Intermediate SQL knowledge
• Good skills in integrating systems and applications
• Good experience with VCS and building tools
• Good understanding of Cloud systems, DevOps concepts and tooling
• Ability to work both individually and in team
• Willingness to learn and teach new technologies
• Being self-motivated and organized
• Solid communication skills (oral and written), and willingness to develop them further
• Experience communicating directly with customer
• Good understanding of IT infrastructure at different layers, like hardware, software, operating systems, middleware, networking …

Salary

Final salary is negotiable.

We are offering base salary depending on seniority level and previous experience of candidate. In addition to base salary we provide variable part and other financial benefits. Base salary will not be lower than 2000€ /brutto.
