In Southeast Asia (SEA), we are operating individual sales units in Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines and Singapore. These SEA units are coordinated through the Singapore regional office.

For the Philippines Rep office we are now looking for a:

Technical Sales Engineer

Drive metal-cutting tooling sales growth within established customer accounts. Promote and sell the organization’s product and services. Manage and provide technical expertise, cultivate strong customer relationships, and enhance productivity and savings for top clients. Thrive in a fast-paced environment, possess a keen understanding of CNC machining, milling, and lathe applications, and excel at problem-solving and strategic thinking.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and nurture established customer relationships to ensure retention and loyalty.
  • Grow share of wallet within assigned customer accounts by identifying opportunities for upselling and cross-selling.
  • Monitor account activity closely to ensure all sales goals are met and exceeded.
  • Develop new business opportunities with high potential customers within the territory.
  • Conduct regular visits to assigned customer accounts to introduce new products, promote existing offerings, and address any concerns or inquiries.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned customer accounts, providing timely assistance and troubleshooting as needed.
  • Collaborate with Account Development or Sales Team to capitalize on opportunities.
  • Create and present compelling proposals for new business opportunities, leveraging a deep understanding of our products/services and customer needs.
  • Utilize CRM software to track sales activities, maintain accurate records, and facilitate effective communication with customers and internal teams.
  • Provide technical expertise on products, including product lifecycle management and customer cost-saving initiatives.
  • Establish annual, quarterly, monthly or weekly sales plans and prioritize and schedule own activities so these targets are met.
  • Stay informed about market trends, competitors, and industry developments to continuously enhance customer productivity and satisfaction.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with internal departments to support existing accounts and secure new business opportunities.

Education and Experience Requirements

  • Tertiary education or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering is preferred.
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience in the machining industry.
  • Strong business acumen to comprehend key customers, distribution partners, and competitors within the assigned territory.
  • Experience with structured sales processes, professional selling skills, and strategic selling methodologies preferred. Candidates with strong technical and industry expertise willing to learn sales processes and techniques are also encouraged to apply.
  • Highly self-motivated individual with a solid understanding of the metal-cutting industry.
  • Experience working in a CNC environment, including programming, engineering, and product design.
  • Ideally located within the area of responsibility for this position.
  • Previous experience as a metal-cutting salesperson preferred but not required.
  • High aptitude for time management and organizational skills.
  • Exceptional competency in CNC machining.
  • Ability to establish new customer relationships.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Positive attitude and a team player willing to contribute to the improvement of their territory.
