This role is part of the Lunar Permanence business unit, which develops Blue Origin’s multiple Blue Moon lunar lander product lines. To further Blue Origin's mission of having millions of people living and working in space, we are building sustainable infrastructure for our transport of crew and cargo from Earth to the lunar surface.

As part of a hardworking team of diverse specialists, technicians, and engineers, you will lead the Electrical Ground Support Equipment (EGSE) effort for Blue Origin’s Blue Moon MK2 Lunar Lander spacecraft. You will share in the team’s impact on all aspects of spacecraft integration and test by collaborating with cross-disciplinary engineers, technicians, customers, Blue Origin teammates, Lunar Lander National Team partners, and aerospace test facility operators across the USA. You will lead a team of engineers to design, acquire, build, test, and certify all the EGSE. You will be responsible for the end-to-end lifecycle of EGSE components and integrated systems required to power-on and test the electrical systems of the spacecraft. This leadership role works directly with the SLD director of integration and test and requires big dreams and excellent communication.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Experience designing, testing, troubleshooting, and operating spacecraft EGSE systems
  • Experience leading a team of engineers
  • Familiarity with industry test standards such as SMC-S-016
  • Excellent verbal, written, and graphical communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, science, or an equivalent related field
  • Typically 8 or more years of experience
  • Ability to travel as needed to support test planning and execution
  • Ability to support odd hours and long weeks during test execution
  • Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience designing, developing, building, and deploying flight hardware and/or ground support equipment for a large spaceflight program
  • Experience on NASA programs and human spaceflight programs
  • Experience leading system-level test campaigns on large spacecraft
  • Experience with scripting (Python or other scripting language)
  • Experience with software tools such as DOORS Next Generation, Cameo, MATLAB/Simulink, Confluence, JIRA, Git, Creo, and Windchill

Compensation Range for:

CO applicants is $153,636.00-$215,090.40

Other site ranges may differ

Paid Time Off: Up to four (4) weeks per year based on weekly scheduled hours, and up to 14 company-paid holidays.
