What We Do

Participates in the design, development, coding, testing, and debugging of innovative products and functionality for client applications across the enterprise. Drawing upon technical background, critical thinking and problem-solving skills to drive continuous process improvement and innovative ideas, working with a cross-functional team to deliver timely, high quality and well tested code that drives change.

HOW YOU’LL CONTRIBUTE

• Collaborate with product managers to translate business requirements into system specific functional requirements.
• Responsible for design and full implementation of product; ensures architecture meets design specs.
• Performs tasks necessary to support design, QA and implementation teams necessary to rollout product.
• Research, design, write, test and implement new software applications and systems.
• Modify and enhance existing complex applications and systems.
• Champion change; drive and set technical direction for the functional group.
• Responsible for quality assurance review.
• Acts as project leader for projects with small budgets or limited duration.
• Propose and split large architectural objectives into smaller incremental objectives
• Evaluate design alternatives, and perform cost benefit analysis
• Lead the design and development of projects that involve any or all layers of our stack
• Work with cross-functional teams to deliver timely, high quality, and well-tested code
• Help define and enforce standards regarding architecture, quality, and performance
• Mentor other developers and contribute to the growth and development of our team
• Help evolve the engineering culture at First American
• Required to perform duties outside of normal work hours based on business needs.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING

Required Education, Experience, Certification/Licensure

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
• May require advanced degree
• Typically have 7+ years of directly related experience.
• 10+ years of experience designing and building customer facing software products from concept to launch
• Experience developing in a microservices architecture, following domain-driven design principles
• Demonstrated leadership abilities driving operational excellence and best practices

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES (KSAs)

• Fluent in multiple application development languages at an expert level
• Experience with various computer platforms and application environments
• Expertise with developing multiple tiers of multi-tiered software applications
• Advanced expertise in designing programs, applications and systems
• Constantly updating technical knowledge and skills and mentoring others to increase the skill level of the department
• Must have conceptual understanding of domain technologies.
• Ability to convey technical and conceptual ideas/topics to non-technical personnel
• Presentation skills
• Strong organizational or Project Management skills
• Ability to design systems with Infrastructure, Network and server operations team in building complex enterprise level applications.
• Solid coding practices including writing technical specifications, peer code review, and testing (unit, integration, end-to-end)
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, and a strong team mentality

Pay Range: $151,600 - $252,600 Annually

This hiring range is a reasonable estimate of the base pay range for this position at the time of posting. Pay is based on a number of factors which may include job-related knowledge, skills, experience, business requirements and geographic location**.**
