The Associate Engineer, Systems Reliability (SRAE) plays a crucial role in ensuring the stability, performance, and security of T-Mobile's IT services. Under guidance, the SRAE contributes to optimizing and maintaining systems that support the company's critical applications, focusing on scalability, availability, and performance while ensuring efficient software delivery. They work on a range of tasks, from managing CI/CD pipelines to supporting the development of next-generation applications on cloud-native platforms. A key aspect of the role is continuous operational improvement to enhance both customer experience and product innovation.

This particular position involves supporting a Tier 1 Document Management platform, which handles the generation, storage, and retrieval of T-Mobile’s legal and financial documents, as well as customer receipts. Working with this high-priority system requires experience with container orchestration, version control, databases, and monitoring tools to ensure efficient performance and reliability.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Utilizes base level understanding of emerging DevOps-centric automation tools and technologies for CICD, configuration management, etc. for non-prod environments.
  • Utilizes software to improve the availability, scalability, latency, and efficiency of T-Mobile’s services.
  • Uses dashboards for continuous monitoring and health check of applications, and the underlying infrastructure, improve the quality of services using the monitoring feedback for non-production environment.
  • Develops and prepares data for dashboard views
  • Responding to deployments, setting up and fine turning of alerts, monitoring, incident management, and communicating with leadership and team members.

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree Computer Science, Information Technology or related field and equivalent experience (Required)

Work Experience:

  • Less than 2 years Systems Reliability Engineering (Required)
  • Experience with Kubernetes, Gitlab, Oracle and My SQL DB ,
  • Familiarity with monitoring Tools like Splunk, and application performance tools like App Dynamics, CICD pipeline are vital.
  • Experience working in Agile and DevOps environment. (Preferred)
  • Experience in Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery tools, such as, Jenkins, Cloudbees, etc., and other automation tools. (Required)
  • Experience with DevOps tools, such as, Ansible, Chef, Puppet, etc. Experience in Docker, Kubernetes, etc. is preferable. (Required)
  • Experience working in a cloud environment (public/private). (Required)
  • Experience in migrating to cloud or cloud native environments experience is preferable.
  • Experience in one or more of: C, C#, Java, Perl, Python, Go, or scripting experience in Shell and Perl.
  • OpenText product knowledge desired

Base Pay Range: $63,700 - $115,000

Corporate Bonus Target: 10%

The pay range above is the general base pay range for a successful candidate in the role. The successful candidate’s actual pay will be based on various factors, such as work location, qualifications, and experience, so the actual starting pay will vary within this range.

At T-Mobile, employees in regular, non-temporary roles are eligible for an annual bonus or periodic sales incentive or bonus, based on their role. Most Corporate employees are eligible for a year-end bonus based on company and/or individual performance and which is set at a percentage of the employee’s eligible earnings in the prior year. Certain positions in Customer Care are eligible for monthly bonuses based on individual and/or team performance.
