Reporting directly to the Manager of Accounts Payable and Billing, this is a key role of the Transaction Services Team under the Financial Operations at TMX Group, managing the billings of multiple TMX legal entities. The Revenue Analyst is responsible for the preparation and process management of high volume invoices for multiple legal entities across TMX Group and to ensure invoices are processed and sent on time to accurately reflect the revenue for the month. The Revenue Analyst also provides accounting, reporting, and financial planning & analysis as a front line support to internal business units and finance, as well as external customer inquiries. The role requires intermediate to advanced proficiency in MS Excel and possess high technical and analytical skills to navigate various billing tools and applications.

Key Accountabilities:

Full ownership of the billing for multiple legal entities.

Ownership entails:

  • Oversee the billing process to ensure monthly activities are complete, accurate, and properly recorded in the general ledger in a timely manner in compliance with the billing schedule and TMX guidelines to satisfy internal and external audit requirements.
  • Possess strong in-depth understanding and knowledge of all revenue driven TMX business lines. Bridges between business partners and external clients to ensure the invoice and statement are captured accurately to reflect the services and goods sold by TMX
  • Coordinate between the FP&A team and all business teams regarding their billing activities and revenue streams, provide advanced analytical support for timely and accurate historical numbers and forecast numbers as required.
  • Perform set-up, maintenance, workday mapping and updates of Customer Accounts and Sale Items information, provide guidance and recommendation for business units personnel to ensure the configuration of Customer Account Hierarchy and Sales Item Hierarchy are according to the TMX Business standards and aligned with Revenue Category Structure.
  • Good sound knowledge of IFRS15 and proper internal controls to ensure all billing is completed in compliance with the TMX Group internal control framework.
  • Reconcile monthly revenue across multiple TMX entities.
  • Develop and maintain complex reports widely used in Workday to support business units and management for financial decisions.
  • Accountable for the system design and architecture of the full-life cycle of billing process flow, from customer account creation, sales item set up to successful issue and delivery of customer invoice and statement
  • Responsible for documentation of business requirement, functional specification for integration of billing module with respect to Workday
  • Collaborating with internal clients to enhance process streamlining and automation
  • Prepare documentation and provide training guidance to all new business and functional users on process changes.
  • Responsible for Customer Account setup and maintenance in Workday.
  • Responsible for Customer Account banking detail setup on refunds for Wire and EFT integration in Workday.
  • Responsible for responding to inquiries from external customers and internal stakeholders; managing multiple billing group inboxes.

Must haves:

  • Post graduate in Accounting and other Business-Related fields of study is preferred
  • 3 - 5 years of relevant experience; experience in operational finance, corporate finance, business project experience
  • Highly motivated and articulate team player. Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong financial analysis skills with a good understanding of accounting principles and practices
  • Strong technical knowledge with a fundamental understanding of the business analysis process and project management
  • Presenting business problems concisely and effectively with a diverse disciplined audience
  • Tactful and diplomatic in completing work activities by demonstrating urgency and sensitivity to users’ concerns/interest
  • Ability to multi-task with flexibility, drive, and collaboratively problem-solve, with a strong results-oriented demeanor
  • Advanced Excel skills including (pivot tables, recording macros), ERP systems, and Google Suite of products
  • The ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent collaboration and organization skills

  • Experience with Workday
  • Knowledge of capital markets

Note: Hybrid role: 2-3 days in Toronto office
