Job description

As a Data Engineer at Fastems, you will be responsible for designing, developing and maintaining data pipelines and platforms that enable data-driven decision making and innovation. You will work closely with other data professionals, software developers, and business stakeholders to ensure that the data solutions are aligned with the business needs and the Fastems vision. You will also contribute to the data governance and quality processes, and support day to day data operations and culture within the organization.

Responsibilities

Strategy & Planning

· Develop, and deploy required data queries/reports in response to business user needs.

· In conjunction with data owners/sponsors/key users and department managers, develop data models and protocols for mining production databases.

· Assist in the development of data management policies and procedures.

Operational Management

· Work with Data Architect and data key users to coordinate the creation and management of data queries and reports.

· Collaborate with unit managers, key users, architects, and other stakeholders to integrate data platform with operational systems.

· Provide and apply data quality best practices.

· Develop, implement, and maintain change control and testing processes for modifications of data flows.

· Create new data models or enhance existing ones.

· Determine required network components to ensure data access, as well as data consistency and integrity.

· Develop routines for end users to facilitate best-practice use of data management tools.

· Collaborate with Data architect and security team to ensure effective protection and integrity of data assets.

· Monitor data management system details within the data platform, including stored procedures and execution time, and implement efficiency improvements.

· React to errors or failed processes in data platform environment

· Manage access management of data platform solution

· Analyze data in data platform based on end user needs/requests

Requirements

Position Requirements

Formal Education & Certification

· Bachelor`s or Master´s degree in the field of computer science, information management or statistics, and/or relevant years of equivalent work experience.

· Few years of relevant work experience.

Knowledge & Experience

· Strong understanding of data models, database structures.

· Good knowledge on Power BI

· Knowledge on TimeXtender tool is seen as benefit

· Excellent knowledge of data modeling tools and database management tools.

· Strong familiarity with data preparation, transformation, processing, classification, and forecasting.

· Working technical experience with relational database servers

· Experience with data management techniques.

· Hands-on database tuning and troubleshooting experience.

· Project management experience.

· Good understanding of the organization’s goals and objectives.

· Involvement in inter-departmental projects and experience communicating with various stakeholders

· Knowledge on SQL Server Analysis Services is seen as benefit

· Programming experience (Python, C#, etc)

· Knowledge of ETL tools.

· Understanding of Microsoft Azure services.

· Understanding of incremental development (DevOps)

· Knowledge of AI is seen as a benefit
