VACANCY FOR QC Engineer

The purpose of this job is to ensure that the product quality is maintained throughout its manufacturing cycle and to achieve the set performance targets on quality and vendor development.

Contribute and support to maintain and improve the defined quality level of products per Alfa Laval standards/specifications and customer requirements.

The position / About the Job:

In this job the QC Engineer would be responsible for:

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Hands on experience in Stage wise inspections for Fabrication parts and pressure Vessels at the supplier end.
  • Assuring quality parameters of the parts manufactured at supplier end as per agreed QAP/ SOPs.
  • Controlling WPS, WPQ PQR for fabricated equipment’s manufactured in respective suppliers
  • Should have good knowledge of welding standards such as AWS D1.1, ASME Section IX, ISO 3834
  • Awareness of painting standards, painting inspection, paint qualification methods.
  • Support new product launches to ensure supplier end & ensuring capability of delivering to the required quality standards
  • Manage the root cause analysis and corrective actions process of supplier quality issues
  • Review and evaluate supplier quality data to identify process improvement opportunities within the supply chain
  • Hands on experience in welding inspection, welding defects identification and inspection techniques, instruments devises used in welding inspection
  • Aware about skid assembly process.
  • Need to understand Client Job specification.
  • Should prepare and develop Quality Assurance Plan / Inspection and Test Plan / Procedures to keep our quality objectives and to guarantee products with the lowest possible failure rate for on hand and future orders.
  • Coordinating and controlling outsourcing inspections, Project quality documentation, Final inspection, Quality release notes for shipment etc.
  • Responsible for audit of products, logging of quality issues and driving of root cause solutions. Drive that solutions are in place to eliminate the need for rework of product. Maintain complete chronological records of lesson learnt and corrective actions, preventive solutions to share and implement process/engineering changes.
  • Participates in the supplier evaluation, supplier audit, selection and development process as required to meet our quality standards.
  • Should compile Quality Dossier / MRB and OM Manual as per Customer Requirement and Project Specification well in time.
  • Support in Expediting & project documentation and Willingness to travel.
  • HSE - Maintaining and following safety standards on shop floor/supplier end and ensuring a clean and safe working environment.

What you can be?

Education:

  • Degree in Mechanical/Production Engineering
  • Certification in NDT Level II - VT, PT, MT, RT
  • Certification/awareness in Quality Management (ISO 9001:2015) is an asset
  • Speak & Write English

Experience / Knowledge

  • You should have experience of 6-7 years in the areas of Quality Management, handling supplier quality function in Manufacturing, Oil and Gas, petrochemical and fertilizer industries with experience in Fabrication, Heat Exchangers, Piping, Valves, pumps, Machining and Assembly of large rotating equipment.
  • Good understanding of various quality improvement tools techniques, Kaizen, 5S, 8D etc.
  • Hands-on experience in various manufacturing process like welding, bending, rolling, machining, painting, assembly, NDT.
  • Knowledge of Welding Prequalification and documentation as per ASME, EN or equivalent (welder qualification welding process approval methods)
  • Good knowledge / handling of testing instruments calibration procedures.
  • Knowledge of various standards - ASME/ASTM/ANSI/EN/ISO standards/API/PED/ASME U Stamp
