Staff Software Engineer

We are looking for a Staff Software Engineer with experience in back end technologies to lead our Employee Shift Management Experience team. Our team’s mission is to create trust between employees and managers by delivering a world class shift management experience.

In this role, you will act as the technical conscience of the team, support the technical growth of your fellow engineers, and drive on time, high quality delivery of team initiatives. You will partner with Product Management, Design, and your Engineering Manager to establish high fidelity timelines and provide insight into feasibility and complexity of our roadmap.

About this roll * (Responsibilities):

• Be part of team working collaboratively to design and build a high quality, seamless shift management experience for restaurant employees and managers
• Influence product direction through technical insights, and drive technical best practices
• Champion quality automation and unit testing
• Provide technical design feedback and participate in code reviews to ensure releases exceed the expectations of our users
• Ensure that all work done by the team is delivered with quality and is appropriately monitored and supported in production
• Mentor other team members in support of their technical growth

Do you have the right ingredients* ? (Requirements):

• Proficient in Java, Kotlin or other object oriented languages
• Proficient with traditional databases and alternative data stores (DynamoDB a plus)
• Prior experience with distributed systems, enterprise messaging systems or microservices
• Proficient in Software Development best practices (Code Quality, UnitTest, BDD)
• Experience delivering high quality, reliable services to production
• Excellent cross-team communication skills on complex technical topics
• Enjoy collaborating with and mentoring colleagues
• Effective at working closely with Product Management and UX Design
• Passionate about technology and learning new things
• Willingness to make continuous improvements to teams and technology

The base salary range for this role is listed below. The starting salary will be determined based on skills and experience. In addition to base salary, our total rewards components include cash compensation (overtime, bonus/commissions if eligible), equity, and benefits.

Pay Range

$150,000—$240,000 USD
