About The Role:

Willow Innovations, Inc. is looking for a Sr. Manufacturing Engineer to support and facilitate the Manufacturing operations of our company. Reporting to the Sr. Manager of Manufacturing Engineering, the Sr. Manufacturing Engineer will ensure a consistent supply of quality products is always available, by communicating effectively with and supporting international and domestic partners/suppliers and internal teams. This engineer will focus on the mechanical design of Willow’s products, specifically in plastics/LSR molding and manufacturing to identify, recommend, plan, and implement design change and cost reduction projects. The engineer will serve on technical teams to accomplish company objectives for product supply, quality, cost, new product introduction, and sustaining manufacturing engineering activities.

Roles & Responsibilities | What You'll Do:

  • Collaborate directly with Contract Manufacturers and suppliers to ensure production needs are met on time
  • Support projects for released products to implement configuration changes, reduce costs, and improve performance, quality, and reliability
  • Manage product bills of material, specifications, engineering drawings, and documents
  • Document and execute engineering studies
  • Develop, document, and validate processes
  • Drive root cause analysis and implement corrective actions as needed
  • Perform cost analysis and identify opportunities for improvement
  • Communicate project and task status
  • Perform material analysis to ensure consistent supply, and limit excess and obsolete material
  • Manage and prioritize workload, develop project plans and oversee project execution
  • Support Willow from company headquarters in Mountain View, CA - domestic and International Travel (Asia, Latin America) is required.

Experience | What You'll Bring:

  • 5-10 years relevant industry experience and a minimum BS degree in Mechanical Engineering or other engineering or applied science discipline OR
  • 3-5 years relevant industry experience and a minimum MS degree in Mechanical Engineering or other engineering or applied science discipline
  • Development and maintenance of mechanical part drawings and specifications, solid modeling (Solidworks and/or NX)
  • Thorough understanding of plastics/LSR injection molding, component design/DFM, tooling design balancing cost, complexity, and reliability
  • Good knowledge of and technical experience in general engineering principles, and attention to detail, with excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Understanding of processes and materials used in high volume manufacturing, mechanical and electromechanical systems.
  • Demonstrated record of task and project planning and execution
  • Experience in a fast-paced environment, shipping medical and/or consumer products is required - medical device development (ISO13485, FDA) is a plus
  • Passion for Willow’s mission and vision to bring joy to motherhood

Other experience in the following areas:

  • Interactions with contract manufacturers and suppliers: Change management, root cause investigation, material planning
  • Design change planning and implementation: fixture design, engineering changes, protocol/report writing
  • Manufacturing methods: Printed circuit board/electronics assembly, mechanical assembly, bonding, industrial engineering principles, process automation, basic statistical methods and analysis

Additional Information
Willow takes a market-based approach to pay, and pay may vary depending on the successful candidate’s location, job-related skills, experience, and qualifications. We regularly review and update our pay ranges and therefore, these ranges may be modified in the future.

Bay Area, Seattle Area : $135,000-$150,000
