Design Release Engineer - Glazing

Responsibilities

• Design, release and launch of glazing and mechanisms of a state-of-the-art car.
• Create cutting edge glazing systems focusing on quality, reliability, functionality, mass and cost efficiency.
• Coordinate engineering designs and systems with purchasing, suppliers, testing team, manufacturing team, other vehicle subsystems and functions.
• Work with suppliers to create specifications and requirements of the components.
• Provide technical support and system analysis for root cause analysis of development issues.
• Provide technical leadership for sophisticated component or technology development.
• Provide professional reports and documentation for the system with information provided by design responsible engineers.
• Coordinate, lead and participate in design reviews.
• Travel as required.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering plus 3 years relevant experience

• 2+ years of experience in vehicle glazing and mechanisms design & development. This includes design related experience: Windshield, Quarter Glasses, Roof Glass and Rear Glass.

• Knowledge and working experience with of experience with DFMEA (Design Failure Mode and Effect Analysis) and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing)

• Familiarity with the engineering design components.

• CATIA V5 or V6 knowledge and working experience in 3D and drawing creation and modification

• Understanding of applicable regulatory requirements
