About the Role

As an associate/ senior associate scientist, you will work within the protein biochemistry and drug discovery group to produce, screen, and characterize protein therapeutics. You will also assist with platform and pipeline development.

About You

You are an enthusiastic researcher who is passionate about protein sciences and drug discovery. You have a degree in biology or biochemistry, and have prior experience with protein engineering and immunology.

You have serious grit, excellent documentation skills, are eager to employ and master new techniques, and are committed to reproducible and rigorous scientific practice. What You'll Do and Learn

  • Grow and manage cell lines and work with primary cells including PBMCs
  • Generate and screen yeast displayed libraries of potential protein therapeutics
  • Purify protein binders from these campaigns
  • Screen and fine-tune protein therapeutics for characteristics including cell binding and immune functionality
  • Be a part of a dynamic and experienced problem solving team bringing together AI and protein biochemistry
  • Maintain meticulous records of experiments, protocols, and results and adherence to deadlines.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 4+ years of laboratory experience (preferred industry experience).
  • 1+ year experience screening and/or generating phage display libraries.
  • Bachelors in Biology, Biochemistry, Immunology, or similar field
  • Experience with most of the following lab techniques:
    • Flow cytometry (FACS) and analysis (Cytoflex, Fortessa, Symphony, iQue3)
    • Magnetic cell sorting (MACS)
    • Mammalian cell culture and excellent aseptic technique
    • Protein biochemistry (Octet/Gator, ELISA, SDS Page, Western blot, etc)
    • Antibody and protein expression and purification (ExpiCHO, Expi293)
    • Molecular biology and cloning (Golden gate, Gibson, primer design)
  • Demonstrated ability to improve protocols to yield more reproducible/improved results.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly present results of their work to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with high throughput assay development.
  • Familiarity with protein developability and biosensors.
  • Experience with liquid handling and automation workflows (Hamilton, Bravo, etc).
  • Experience using LIMS and Benchling.
  • Experience setting up and configuring lab facilities and processes.

Compensation

The specific compensation package for this role depends on experience, qualifications and level. We anticipate the compensation range to be $92,000 to $135,000 per year.
