Director, Facility Design

Description:

The Director, Facility Design will deliver huge impact both on the customer experience and on performance of the Fulfilment Centre organization.
In this role you will be directly responsible for the process optimization and FC Design. You work on improvement projects aimed to streamlining activities, while driving performance and quality. You will be given a real opportunity to shape your organization with ideas that could be rolled out across the Coupang network.
This role requires a high-level of ownership over the end-to-end process, the ability to think outside of the box, willingness to disrupt the current processes to create a new one, the ability to design sustainable solutions and influence stakeholders, ensuring service excellence whilst continuously improving our processes. This position is based in Seoul, Korea.

Key responsibilities:

• You will play a critical role in Operations Engineering and Design Excellence.
• Be a Subject-Matter Expert on larger processes and activities within the Design Engineering and Design Excellence.
• Driving continuous process improvement and make our customer experience better than ever.
• Develop and optimize existing processes from concept to deployment in close partnership with internal support functions and external vendors.
• Increases productivity by designing and testing new process flows.
• Authors reports to document project status and changes; and tracks metrics to identify areas of improvement.
• Communicates project outputs to senior leaders; and creates strategy for long term roadmap.

Essential qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in an Engineering discipline (Logistics, Supply Chain, Engineering, Mathematics or equivalent.Experience in building and innovating processes and/or processing equipment in a relevant field.
• Extensive experience in Design Engineering and Design Excellence with a solid track-record in a similar fast- paced logistics, distribution, manufacturing, or engineering environment.
• Demonstrated ability to build strong working relationships with business partners and key stakeholders and the ability to work under pressure in a cross functional organization.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Passionate about achieving results and driving production through efficiency and process improvement.
• Must be able to demonstrate effective problem-solving and analytical capability. Thrive on change, inclined to operate with flexibility and commit the time required to get the job done.
