Chemical Engineer

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with the toner and photoconductor development engineers and the cartridge development and product engineers to take products from design to manufacturing scale and integrate them into printer cartridges.
• Support announced products, including cost reductions, continuity of supply, product performance, manufacturing quality, and engineering changes throughout the product’s life cycle.
• Design, conduct, and analyze engineering trials at lab, pilot, and manufacturing scales.
• Scale-up new products into manufacturing.
• Support photoconductor and toner manufacturing processes.
• Maintain product specifications, engineering BOMs, manufacturing recipes, and process parameters.

Desired skills:

• BS in Chemical Engineering and 2-7 years of relevant work experience
• Experience with design of experiments.
• Work well in a team, as well as individually.

Relevant Skills and Competencies:

• Organize and manage capital projects to achieve schedule, budget, and scope.
• DMAIC, A3, Six Sigma and other systematic root cause determination and problem-solving skills.
• Practitioner of LEAN manufacturing principles.
• Experience with polymers, solutions, dispersions, pigments, acids, and bases.
• Experience with powder processing: milling, classification, blending, conveyance, and storage.
• Experience with extrusion, coating, reactions, flocculation, anodizing and mixing.

Additional:

• Ability to relocated to the Boulder Colorado area.
• Occasional domestic and international travel.

Targeted Salary: $70,000 - 110,000/salary
