Summer Analyst Roles & Responsibilities

Ares is seeking a Summer Analyst for our Portfolio Management department, within the Real Estate group. The position will expose the intern to the daily responsibilities of a Portfolio Management associate, which includes:

• Evaluating suitability of pipeline investments within specific fund strategies
• Portfolio analysis and reporting to craft messaging to internal and external stakeholders
• Ad hoc analysis as requested by limited partners
• Summer capstone project curated between intern and manager and presented to the broader real estate investment team

The position also includes exposure to various functions with the Real Estate department, including: new deal origination, corporate debt underwriting, investor relations, accounting, finance, performance and restructuring.

Who We Are Looking For

We are looking for self-motivated, astute individuals with a passion for and interest in investments. In addition to strong analytical skills and comfort in a fast-paced team environment, successful candidates should have:

• Beginning to intermediate MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint skills
• Basic knowledge and understanding of real estate cash flows
• Self-motivation and drive; ability to work effectively in a collegial, fast paced, demanding and multifaceted environment
• Creative problem-solving skills
• Exceptional interpersonal skills
• Outstanding integrity and trustworthiness

Additionally:

• Are currently enrolled as an undergraduate student, ideally majoring in Finance or Economics
• Have an anticipated graduation date between December 2025 and August 2026
• Have a track record of academic excellence and participation in campus activities
• Have strong intellect with proven quantitative, financial and analytical skills

Duration: 10 weeks

Compensation: Paid Internship - the total base salary (subject to change) is expected to be $95,000 (prorated)
