The Role

We are looking for an ambitious and dynamic individual to drive our risk governance, develop an enterprise risk management framework, and manage key risk indicators. This role involves enhancing risk controls, overseeing product-related risks, and promoting risk awareness across Plum.

What Will You Do

• Lead and drive the developments of the firm’s risk governance structure, including taking responsibility for the firm’s risk committee
• Develop and maintain a comprehensive enterprise risk management framework across the firm and its affiliates
• Assisting in setting the risk appetite for Plum across different risk types, establishing KRIs and monitoring performance against them
• Mature the risk management framework, including but not limited working with the business to formalise risk and control self assessments, reporting and reviewing the effectiveness of risk controls
• Provide hands-on development of risk models involving market and operational risk, ensuring that controls are operated effectively, and offer research and analytical support
• Continuously assess and oversee the risks associated with the release of new or existing products and work closely with the different business units to mitigate these risks in line with the business risk appetite
• Produce risk-related assessments, including managing cross-functional work such as the ICARA and Operational Resilience

• Produce and maintain relevant policies, procedures and records
• Contribute to broader work carried out by the teams to continually enhance risk controls
• Creating risk awareness across Plum by helping the teams to understand the risks associated with their operations and by developing and delivering risk training

What We Look For

• Driven, ambitious risk professional preferably with experience of ICARA (or at least ICAAP). Ideally you will have worked in retail investment firms or payments firms, but other areas of financial services will also be considered
• Strong working knowledge of operational risk and regulations such as AML, payment services, E-money, fraud, and sanctions
• 5+ years experience in leading a risk management department
• Knowledge of risk associated with payment services and retail investments
• Any previous operational resilience experience would be advantageous but is not essential
• Experience of working in a customer focused Fintech, or Financial services business is desirable
