Automotive Field Application Engineer - BMS (Graduate) (f/m/d)

As part of our automotive field application team in Munich, you’ll get it all first-hand at top tier automotive suppliers. Whether it’s presenting our leading capabilities, creating system solutions with customers, preparing workshops, holding trainings or running debug-sessions – you will have the opportunity to drive significant business opportunities from the concept stage through production ramp at the OEM.
We are looking for a junior field applications engineer (m/f/d) for BMS (battery management systems) at our location in Munich as soon as possible and offer an attractive compensation package incl. pension plan, a company car and mobile phone, flexible working hours in the office or at home, investment into your future (skill building), and a team that is fun to work within the NXP community.
Your responsibilities:
- Develop system solution proposals based on NXP products for applications in the automotive space (especially BMS) and present in front of customers and peers.
- Provide strong technical expertise supporting design-in activities. Assist customers on site in evaluation of silicon, and support HW reviews of customer application board schematics.
- Close cooperation with Sales and Marketing on project identification and proposals to customers.
- Leverage customer meetings to gather intelligence about the customers’ end product plans and relevant silicon requirements, communicate the collected information to the product groups.
- Identify new features for NXP semiconductor products to meet future market requirements.
- Assist in the development of technical collateral for internal or customer use (e.g. Application Notes, Engineering Bulletins, etc.). Support trade shows and technical society meetings.
Your profile:
- Electrical Engineer with 3 years’ experience, or MSEE graduate with first experience in battery technology and battery management systems.
- Basic knowledge of Lithium battery cell chemistry (NMC, LFP, LTO), characteristics and applications (high voltage battery or power train) and Analog / Mixed Signal ICs is required.
- Familiarity with the automotive environment, functional safety (ISO 26262) and Software experience (C/C++, Python, Autosar) would be a plus.
- High degree of flexibility, self-motivation, customer and business orientation.
- Good written and verbal communication/presentation skills in German and English.
